As well as the traditional cowboy heritage, it鈥檚 the remoteness and rich wildlife of Los Llanos that draws nature-lovers to this corner of Colombia. Set on its own private reserve, Corocora Camp is the perfect base from which to experience this virtually untouched wilderness. Choose from one of four sleeping tents where you鈥檒l find plush mattresses, en-suite bathrooms and private terraces.

Explore the reserve with a naturalist guide for a chance to encounter more than 200 different species of birds as well as giant anteaters, capybaras, jaguars, howler monkeys and mighty anacondas. Immerse yourself in the region鈥檚 rich riding culture on excursions alongside local llaneros who鈥檒l teach you how to herd cattle using traditional songs and chants. Finish off with a parrando llanero 鈥� a feast around the bonfire complemented by live music.

This is the third time I’ve used TUTC. The service, as before, was flawless. Aside from putting in place all the major details of a complex trip to Japan, Dan at TUTC nailed every detail: train tickets were for seats with large luggage space (very important in Japan, as we discovered); a mobile internet wifi was included; together with a pre-charged use-pretty-much-anywhere travel card (again, important – Japan has multiple transport companies). For any kind of complex trip I won’t go anywhere else.
