COFFEE PLANTATION

Shake off the dust of your Tanzanian safari at this inviting lodge set at the heart of a vast and verdant coffee plantation.

Nestled in the foothills of rugged Mt Meru, the Arusha Coffee Lodge enjoys a serene spot on one of Tanzania’s oldest coffee plantations. From the homely feel of the lodge to the friendliness of its staff, this is the perfect pre- or post-safari retreat. When not strolling about the coffee fields, pampering yourself in the spa or relaxing poolside, you can ask your hosts about excursions to the Museum of Natural History or the nearby Masai market. The ‘bean-to-cup’ coffee tour is a must.

Reminiscent of traditional plantation houses, the 30 airy wooden chalets are dotted about the lodge’s fragrant grounds. Expect to find romantic four-poster beds, homely log fires and split-level lounges. Private balconies are perfect for looking out over the swathes of berry-laden coffee bushes. The main lodge houses the ‘a la carte’ restaurant, as well as a bistro, bar and lounge complete with open log fires you can warm up next to in the evenings.

“FLAWLESS, AGAIN”
This is the third time I’ve used TUTC. The service, as before, was flawless. Aside from putting in place all the major details of a complex trip to Japan, Dan at TUTC nailed every detail: train tickets were for seats with large luggage space (very important in Japan, as we discovered); a mobile internet wifi was included; together with a pre-charged use-pretty-much-anywhere travel card (again, important – Japan has multiple transport companies). For any kind of complex trip I won’t go anywhere else.

“SEAMLESSLY ORGANISED, TRULY UNFORGETTABLE”
The itinerary was spot on. Claire really listened and understood the kind of holiday I wanted – from the hotels to the pace of the trip. The team on the ground were exceptional: friendly, efficient, and always one step ahead, helping with everything from flight check-ins to tax-free procedures at the end. The guides were knowledgeable and genuinely helpful. I had an amazing time. Thank you!

“EVERY TRIP EXCELLENT – AND MORE TO COME”
I’ve been on several small group holidays with 91³Ô¹Ï and every one has been outstanding. My most recent trip in February was no exception – expertly organised, responsive to questions, and full of memorable experiences. The itineraries are well thought out, the hotels top-notch, and the group sizes just right. Their tour leaders are knowledgeable, supportive and great company. I haven’t looked elsewhere since discovering Ultimate – and I’m already planning my next.
