The photographs will not prepare you for the visual extravaganza that is the worlds oldest desert. This is where the wind and millions of years have shaped red sand into megalithic dunes, and then carved them into gigantic geometric contours and repeating patterns. Dont resist the temptation to take a hot air balloon flight!
Its also a place where you can find wildlife that has evolved to suit the extreme habitat. Springbok, gemsbok, ostrich and jackal are regulars at the Lodges waterhole, while bat-eared foxes, the occasional aardwolf, hyena, porcupine and an impressive array of rodents and reptiles all thrive here too.
