ISHASHA WILDERNESS CAMP, QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK

Intimate, eco-friendly safari camp

Thanks to its location within the national park itself, guests can expect to see wildlife roaming freely about camp, including vervet monkeys, elephant and hippo – the latter of which is often seen wallowing in the river just below the viewing deck. Expert guides will also take you further afield on game drives, bush walks and boat trips to see the area’s famous tree-climbing lions as well as some of the 600-plus species of birds. When not exploring the park, you’ll have the opportunity to visit the nearby community and school for a deeper insight into local life.

Designed to be as low impact as possible, each of the camp’s 10 canvas tented rooms has a private veranda overlooking the river’s flowing waters, as well as an ensuite bathroom, hot bush shower and large, mosquito-netted bed. The thatched central lounge is an inviting space to dine and relax in during the day, but meals can also be enjoyed al fresco by the river as well as secluded bush breakfasts. The outdoor fireplace provides the perfect spot for sundowners in the evening.

“FAULTLESS AND FUN”
We’ve just returned from a Danube cruise with Douglas Skeggs and Joanna Worsley, with a few days in Vienna beforehand – all brilliantly overseen by Emily. From meet and greet at the airport to every detail on board the Amadeus Cara, the organisation was seamless. We’re already looking forward to our next Escorted Tour with 91³Ô¹Ï.

“FLAWLESS, AGAIN”
This is the third time I’ve used TUTC. The service, as before, was flawless. Aside from putting in place all the major details of a complex trip to Japan, Dan at TUTC nailed every detail: train tickets were for seats with large luggage space (very important in Japan, as we discovered); a mobile internet wifi was included; together with a pre-charged use-pretty-much-anywhere travel card (again, important – Japan has multiple transport companies). For any kind of complex trip I won’t go anywhere else.

“WONDERFUL TREK IN NEPAL AND VISIT TO TIGER RESERVE”
From our very first phone call, 91³Ô¹Ï provided excellent service. We shared our ideas and they came back with a proposal that included everything we wanted – then improved it with thoughtful suggestions. We were especially impressed that our tailor-made holiday was competitively priced. Once on the ground, everything ran smoothly. We were met at each airport, stayed in fantastic hotels, and had a brilliant guide for our trek. A truly enjoyable and well-managed trip from start to finish.
