Arkaba Homestead, Flinders Ranges | Arkaba Homestead | Ultimate Travel Company

Occupying 60,000 isolated acres within Australia’s rugged Flinders Ranges, Arkaba is a quintessential 1850s Australian homestead. Housing only 10 guests, you won’t have to share this pristine wilderness with many others. Open-top jeep safaris and guided walks with expert field guides offer encounters with iconic Australian wildlife – including emus, red kangaroos, yellow-footed rock-wallabies and wedge-tailed eagles – whilst mountain biking and visits to Aboriginal rock art sites can also be arranged. As well as air safaris and helicopter rides for the truly adventurous.

When not exploring the mountainous landscape beyond, you can retreat to the comfort of your traditionally furnished bedroom where a shady veranda provides the perfect kick-back spot. The library also offers plush leather armchairs to sink into and a stone fireplace to unwind around, whilst dining takes place on the terrace with panoramic views over the Elder Range. Guests are also invited take part in the property’s conservation efforts, which focus on protecting the native wildlife from feral animals.

“FLAWLESS, AGAIN”
This is the third time I’ve used TUTC. The service, as before, was flawless. Aside from putting in place all the major details of a complex trip to Japan, Dan at TUTC nailed every detail: train tickets were for seats with large luggage space (very important in Japan, as we discovered); a mobile internet wifi was included; together with a pre-charged use-pretty-much-anywhere travel card (again, important – Japan has multiple transport companies). For any kind of complex trip I won’t go anywhere else.

“PROFESSIONAL, PERSONAL – AND A REAL PLEASURE”
From the moment we got in touch, everything felt smooth and well looked after. The team were not only professional and thorough – providing tailored suggestions with clear costings – but also genuinely friendly. Even after we returned, a follow-up email (and a bottle of wine!) showed just how thoughtful Ultimate Travel really is. Nothing was too much trouble. We already have more trips booked and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

“YES TO ULTIMATE – AND YES AGAIN”
This was our second big trip with 91³Ô¹Ï – and we’d happily use them again and again. The customer service is excellent: they really listen to what you want and make it happen. Their on-the-ground support, wherever you’re headed, is just as strong. Everything was seamless. Highly recommend.
