Patio del Mundo is a charming boutique bed & breakfast in the popular neighbourhood of el Poblado, close to a host of bars, restaurants, museums and boutique shops. A juxtaposition against the high-rises and sprawling buildings of Medellin, Patio del Mundo is an oasis of calm, which guests enjoy as soon as they walk through the door. Colourful plants, textiles and artwork greet guests in the open plan lounge, giving it a distinctly homely feel.
There are just seven individually decorated rooms, each with its own theme and character, showcasing different parts of the world. All of the rooms have large and comfortable beds, en suite bathrooms and two of the rooms also have their own private patios, complete with hammocks.
Patio del Mundos showpiece is its magnificent tropical garden though, where guests can enjoy a delicious breakfast, comprised of fresh fruits and legendary Colombian coffee. A wooden decking overlooks wild orchids, mango trees and guests can relax to the sound of chirping birds. There is even a hidden Jacuzzi at the bottom of the garden, which can only be reached by a trail through avocado, banana and orange trees.
Massages, spa treatments and yoga are all available on request and the owners pride themselves on their attentive and personalised service. Patio del Mundo is the perfect base for exploring the city, known locally as the City of Eternal Spring due to its temperate weather throughout the year.
