Kasbah Du Toubkal, The Atlas Mountains

an easy escape from the bustle of Marrakech

In the heart of the High Atlas near the foot of Jebel Toubkal, North Africa’s highest mountain, Kasbah du Toubkal provides an easy escape from the bustle of Marrakech.

Though just 40 miles from the capital, this Berber-run mountain retreat feels worlds away on its rocky outcrop above the town of Imlil. Surrounded by the Toubkal National Park, its gardens and terraces enjoy some truly spectacular views of the region’s peaks and valleys. There are some wonderful treks to enjoy in the vicinity for both the experienced trekkers and nature enthusiasts alike, as well as charming villages and hamlets. On your return to the kasbah you can enjoy a traditional hammam, before retreating to the roof-terrace to bask in the inspiring scenery – mint tea in hand.

“THREE HOLIDAYS IN AND STILL HIGHLY RECOMMEDED”
Dan Mills organised perfectly a challenging itinerary to incorporate a wedding we were attending in Kathmandu. A fantastic balance of trekking, rafting, safari, sightseeing and R&R. This was our third holiday with Ultimate Travel and we cannot recommend highly enough

“PROFESSIONAL, PERSONAL – AND A REAL PLEASURE”
From the moment we got in touch, everything felt smooth and well looked after. The team were not only professional and thorough – providing tailored suggestions with clear costings – but also genuinely friendly. Even after we returned, a follow-up email (and a bottle of wine!) showed just how thoughtful Ultimate Travel really is. Nothing was too much trouble. We already have more trips booked and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

“FLAWLESS, AGAIN”
This is the third time I’ve used TUTC. The service, as before, was flawless. Aside from putting in place all the major details of a complex trip to Japan, Dan at TUTC nailed every detail: train tickets were for seats with large luggage space (very important in Japan, as we discovered); a mobile internet wifi was included; together with a pre-charged use-pretty-much-anywhere travel card (again, important – Japan has multiple transport companies). For any kind of complex trip I won’t go anywhere else.
